Audition to perform in CMI's 6th Annual Capitol Movement Project Dance Concert as well as the CMI touring company. Selected individuals will have an opportunity to work with local choreographers like CMI's own Co-Visionary Stephanie Jojokian, Tony Powell, Viktor Wallace, Tim Roberts, J.Kevin Aguilar, and Shontal Snider, as well as international industry professionals. The company performs at the Sidney Harman Hall Forum as part of the 'Happenings at the Harman' and other events, and offers a 4-month contract with a monthly stipend of $500. Female Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop Dancers

Momentum Dance Theatre seeks female professional dancers for Jazz Hip Hop Nutcracker 2010, a large scale holiday production Dec 9-19 (8 performances). All dancers must be trained in jazz and latin jazz and be familiar with salsa and partnering. Two dancers must have extensive ballet (no point) and contemporary background. Two dancers must be at least inermediate level tappers. All must be strong performers and teamplayers.
Main rehearsal times: Thursdays 8:15-11pm, Sundays 12:30-5:30pm with additional rehearsals as needed.
There is a performance contract. Audition by appointment.

Musicians, theatre and circus arts trained artists are welcomed. Concert Date: Saturday, January 29, 2011, 3 pm and 8 pm
The Choreographers' Showcase at Maryland is open to choreographers 18 years and older who reside in Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia. Any modern work not exceeding 15 minutes in length created within the last two years is eligible. Work must be auditioned in finished form with props, sets and costumes. Equipment available includes general stage lighting and CD player.
Six choreographers will be selected for performances in January. Choreographers will be responsible for performance-quality CD and transportation of any sets. Choreographers presented will receive an honorarium of $700 and a DVD of their performance.

Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Singh Dance Company

Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Singh Dance Company is currently recruiting strong male dancers with a solid background in modern dance and/or ballet and release technique for its 2010-2011 season.
Dancers must work well in a group, and be interested and willing to study other techniques such as Bharata Natyam and Social Dance forms. Experience in other dance forms and in interest in collaborative and experimental work is a definite plus. Rehearsals are from 7:00 to 10:00 pm Mondays and Wednesdays in Silver Spring, Maryland and dancers must be able to commit to at least one year to be considered for the positions. All performances and travel expenses are paid, and dancers receive a rehearsal stipend. The company has several local, national and international performance opportunities in the upcoming months. We have a full season planned with several performances in the Fall and Spring of next year.
The company collaborates with several theater and dance companies in the area for dynamic projects throughout each season. Dakshina received the Dance Metro DC Founder's Award for Innovation in 2007, and Emerging Group and Excellence in Costume in 2008.
