Get Your DancePass

Dance/MetroDC’s DancePass program started as a project of dance presenters in the Greater Washington area and Dance/MetroDC, as an answer to the question, “How can we increase the awareness of each other’s dance-making, and make it affordable within the dance community?” DancePass is offered to the region’s dance artists, students and related arts practitioners as well as the wider public.

How it works

Area presenters, self-producing artists, other theatre venues ,  stores, restaurants,  hotels,  studios ,  and spas create special discount offers to DancePass holders through Dance/MetroDC. Dance/MetroDC sends email blasts to DancePass holders each time a vendor makes a discount available indicating the terms of the discount.

*Vendors decide what kind of offer they give to DancePass holders. For example, it’s possible for a vendor to discount tickets across the board to all DancePass holders, or to set aside free merchandise to the first 25 responses they receive. It’s also possible for a vendor to select an item to discount, like free youth hip-hop classes to DancePassKid holders only.

The DancePass card is only valid for the highlighted discounts in the email blast; vendors are not required to discount all performances or products.

Dance Performance Group
Nancy Havlik Dance Performance Group, a small dance/theater company of highly physical performers, described as “wonderfully inspired dance/theater” by the Washington Post, was formed in 1989 to present Nancy Havlik’s choreography. The multi-faceted dances address the human condition, individual struggle for connection, and matters of the heart. Company members engage in a collaborative rehearsal process involving improvisation, writing, exploration of text and visual art to realize the finished work. Photo by Colin Winterbottom.
